Company Overview:
Critical Outcome Technologies Inc. (COTI) is located in Ontario’s medical research and discovery heartland in London, Ontario. COTI has developed a unique, powerful computational process called CHEMSAS® for the accelerated discovery, optimization and pre-clinical development of targeted libraries of disease-specific drugs. Using CHEMSAS ®, COTI is able rapidly identify, profile and optimize small molecules that have the potential to be effective in the treatment of human diseases. COTI is focussed on identifying potential treatments for diseases that currently have no effective therapy. Our vision is to be instrumental in saving thousands of lives by enabling accelerated development of new treatment options To be included in a library a molecule must achieve an exceptional score after detailed analysis of effectiveness, toxicity, and the ADME properties; absorption, distribution, metabolism (e.g. cytochrome P450 interactions) and excretion. CHEMSAS® also profiles each compound for solubility and drug-like properties. COTI presently has libraries in development for small cell lung cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV integrase, colorectal cancer and acute adult leukemia. Using CHEMSAS®, COTI is able to discover, profile, optimize, synthesize and validate novel compounds in ~12-15 months. The current industry drug discovery approach can take up to 60 months.
