Iconix Biosciences (formerly Iconix Pharmaceuticals) is a privately-held biotechnology company that combines chemistry and genomics to assist other pharmaceutical companies analyze drug compound in order to determine which ones posses the right properties that could be further developed and viable candidates produced. DrugMatrix Platform is a chemogenomics system that compiles information on chemical compounds and genomics data to provide assistance to researchers in distinguishing between those candidates that are not likely to survive rigorous clinical trials and those that can. This platform is utilized primarily through alliances with laboratories and other institutions. In this way, the DrugMatrix system is installed and maintained at the customer site so that the customer is given a great deal of flexibility. Most of these platform alliance customers derive many of their applications from data gathered through the use of Iconix’ proprietary technology base. Clients then use the data throughout their drug discovery pipeline and implement the various analysis methods along the way.
Toxicogenomics Services - Iconix Biosciences, Inc. is a forerunner in the emerging field of toxicogenomics. This integration of chemistry and genomics is used to profile drug candidates. The company’s toxicogenomic capabilities give pharmaceutical companies the opportunity to increase the chances of advancing the right compounds to the clinic, easily and cost-effectively.
ToxFX: A Web-based Automated Toxicogenomic Analysis - ToxFX is an inexpensive, rapid, high throughput automated toxicogenomic analysis system that uses whole genome rat arrays. The system also offers an additional option which can be utilized through the development process. It is a customized low-cost array called the ToxFX array, a smaller array comprised of a reduced gene set that contains the genes which are absolutely necessary in order to define drug signatures as well as the relevant genes necessary for understanding and interpreting molecular toxicological experiments.
Laboratory Services - Iconix Biosciences offer a full range of laboratory services that can be used to corroborate or support the company’s technology and analysis systems. The company offers different services including in vitro and in vivo treatment of cell cultures or animals and microarray processing.
