The Durect Corporation also manufactures and sells osmotic pumps that are used for animal research, as well as various biodegradable polymers that are utilized by pharmaceutical and medical device clients as a raw material or base ingredients in their products candidates.
ALZET - is a miniature, implantable osmotic pump that is used for experimental research that involves animal testing. The ALZET pumps provide a continuous delivery system for drugs, hormones and other test agents at controlled rates from one day to four weeks without the need for external connections, frequent handling or repeated dosing. LACTEL - are biodegradable polymers that are derived from glycolide, lactide, and caprolactone monomers and used in medical applications.
