Company Overview:
GulfStream Bioinformatics Corporation is a provider of comprehensive web-based software solutions for biomedical research and drug development. The company is more than a basic data management systems designer. Their lines of flexible and adjustable technology products can be used to create collaborative, enterprise-wide tools that will enhance the ability of life scientists and researchers to discern clearly what will need to be done, what decisions should be made regarding one product test, and will help them to find ways to save and reduce their company’s costs.

The life sciences industry is facing new challenges as technology is opening up more and more avenues for more efficient drug discover and development techniques as well as certain forms of diagnosis and treatment are approached. New methods and accompanying technology are affecting the way diagnoses and treatments are carried out. Because many of these methods involve understanding disease origin and progression at the molecular level, analysis equipment and protocols must be able examine data at these levels. In response to this real need, complex databases have been created which contain clinical and molecular data, much of which provides information to the development of new medicines.

Products and Services:
GulfStream Bioinformatics has created a strong technology database platform called, BIGR (Biomaterials and Information for Genomics Research), which provides the conditions necessary to collect and manage large, diverse and distributed repositories of biomaterial samples.

KnowledgeCapture is a methodology and technology for modeling information that provides software and supporting services so that data collection can be both structured and standardized across a single project via the BIGR system.

GulfStream Bioinformatics also provides management and laboratory services to many third party providers who share bio-sample information so that every piece of material added to the BIGR database is filled with high quality, consistent, and research-appropriate materials.
