Senior Bioinformatics Scientist (Integrative Computational Sciences)

Responsibilities:
• The Senior Bioinformatics Scientist will join the Integrative Computational Sciences (ICS) department at Lilly Singapore Centre for Drug Discovery (LSCDD), towards the development of novel algorithms, data analysis methods and software tools for drug discovery
• The successful candidate will work closely with the informatics and software engineering peers at ICS, and collaborate with the Discovery IT organization in Europe and USA
• He/she will contribute to a strong team of bioinformaticians and provide hands-on insight and expertise in tailored therapeutic informatics and statistical analyses at the post genomic era


Skills Required:
Preferred Experience:
• Industry experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Drug Discovery
• Strong publication record in the field of Bioinformatics
• Experience in handling large data sets such as microarrays, proteomics and imaging data

Other Requirements :
• In-depth understanding, analysis and processing of data from various post genomic technologies and their application towards clinical development of drugs (Statistical analysis and integration of genotyping, gene expression, chromosomal copy number and structural computational biology datasets, classification, clustering and machine learning)
• Expertise in methods and technologies utilized for integrative analysis of biosciences and clinical data, such as ontologies, semantic web technologies, data exchange standards
• Expertise in heterogeneous data-mining/visualization methods and predictive modeling/simulation techniques relevant to biomarker platforms utilized in the development of tailored therapeutics (molecular profiling, genetic and epigenetic technologies)
• Wide understanding of commercially available bioinformatics/clinical genomics tools and databases
• Demonstrated learning agility
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills with the ability to communicate across domains with biologists and chemists in Lilly Drug Discovery Research (DDR) teams in Singapore and Lilly headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
• Able to be flexible in working hours (to coordinate with different time-zones)


Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics/Computational Biology/Biostatistics/Biophysics or a related discipline
• 3 years’ post-graduate experience
• OS: Unix/Linux, Windows
• Programming: C++/C# .Net
• Databases: Oracle/SQL/mySQL
• Scripting: Perl, Shell
• Statistics: SAS/R/S-Plus/Matlab/Partek
