Senior Software Engineer (Integrative Computational Sciences)
Responsibilities
• The Senior Software Engineer will join the Integrative Computational Sciences (ICS) department at Lilly Singapore Centre for Drug Discovery (LSCDD), towards the development of novel software tools for drug discovery
• The successful candidate will work closely with the informatics and software engineering peers at ICS, and collaborate with the Discovery IT organization in Europe and USA
• He/she will contribute to a strong team of software engineers and provide hands-on insight and expertise in design, development, integration, deployment and support of drug discovery software tools at the post genomic era
• As a key team member at ICS, the Sr. Software Engineer will develop integrated applications to process and visualize data from cutting-edge technologies used by scientists at Lilly Research Labs (LRL) and the Drug Discovery Research (DDR) teams
• The Software Engineering team provides computational tools and tailored software solutions that enable the global effort of Tailored Therapeutics; ‘The Right Drug, at The Right Dose for The Right Patient at The Right Time'

Skills Required:
Preferred Experience:
• Industry experience in Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Drug Discovery
• Experience in developing software applications that are designed to handle large data sets such as microarrays, proteomics and imaging data
• Experience in converting code base written in R/Matlab/Perl to C++/C# with emphasis on memory and performance optimization
• Experience in developing state-of-the-art user interface
Other Requirements:
• Demonstrated competency in software development life cycle methods, techniques and tools, including iterative design and development
• Experience in extreme programming and global collaborative software development
• Experience in the analysis, design and complete development of systems, services and components of data driven applications and advance user interface in integration across multiple drug discovery disciplines
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the analysis, design and construction of modular systems comprised of object-oriented business/science components, databases, persistence sub-systems and composable presentation layers
• Experience in the development of standards, guidelines, documentation and best practices for data, application, and UI component integration
• Extensive applied experience in object-oriented analysis and design
• Experience in design and construction of multi-threaded, distributed-computing applications using pattern-based design principles
• Applied experience in logical and physical data modeling
• Proven record of technical leadership
• Demonstrated learning agility
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills with the ability to communicate across domains with biologists and chemists in Lilly Drug Discovery Research (DDR) teams in Singapore and Lilly headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
• Able to be flexible in working hours (to coordinate with different time-zones)

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline
• 3 years’ post-graduate experience (or 7 years with MS)
• OS: Unix/Linux, Windows
• Programming: Fluency in C++/C# .Net
• Databases: Oracle/SQL/mySQL
• Scripting: Perl, Shell
• Source code tracking: CVS/SourceForge
