Job Description: RTI is an independent organization dedicated to conducting innovative, multidisciplinary research that improves the human condition. We are seeking a health analyst/programmer for work on a large international cancer registry at its Research Triangle Park campus. With a worldwide staff of more than 2,500 people, RTI offers innovative research and development and a full spectrum of multidisciplinary services. Universities in North Carolina founded RTI in 1958 as the first scientific organization in and centerpiece of the Research Triangle Park. Responsibilities
• Working independently with scientific investigators to fill requests for data and to assist with analyses; • Providing technical assistance on the preparation and submission of data and data collection systems; • Utilizing SAS in merging data; meticulously cleaning and editing data; preparing merged data for weighting and producing statistical analyses specified by the client including simple descriptive statistics or complex epidemiologic or other analyses. • Monitoring data collection activities for quality assurance and adherence to protocol guidelines; running operational evaluations, and training new staff.

Skills Required:
• Masters degree in Statistics, Epidemiology, Bioinformatics or a related field with 3 years experience in any of the above referenced fields of study. • Four years of experience managing large data sets and construction of analytic data files as well as demonstrated familiarity with statistical processes, techniques, and methodologies is required. • Demonstrated experience using SAS software for complex data manipulation and analysis. • Excellent written communication skills as evidenced in the cover letter; additional writing samples may be required.
